Gerasina Oleksandra Volodimyrivna

Education and career

In 2002 she graduated with honors from the National Mining University with a degree in Automated Systems Software (specialty 121 «Software Engineering» of the 2015th list) and obtained a qualification as software engineer.

In 2002-2005 she worked as a software engineer at KB «Dniprovs’ke», OJSC «Dniprovsky Machine-Building Plant». Participated in the development of software digital telephone stations of «Dnipro».

Since 2005 she has worked as Assistant Lecturer of the Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering, and since 2013 till now she is Associate Professor of the Department of Information Security and Telecommunications. In 2007-2010 she was a PhD student.

In 2012, she defended her dissertation for obtaining a scientific degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in specialty 05.13.07 - Automation of Control Processes, dissertation topic «Identification of technological processes for coarse crushing and autogenous grinding of the ores using variations of model structure».

In 2014, she received the rank of Associate Professor of the Department of Information Security and Telecommunications.

Experience of scientific and pedagogical work is more than 15 years, experience of practical work on the profile of the department - more than 3 years.

Educational activities

She teaches disciplines: Intelligent Cyber Security Systems, Modern Information Processing Methods, Digital steganography, Fundamentals of Systems Theory, Organizational Support for Information Security and Specialty Management.

Research activities

Field of scientific activities: development of intelligent models and algorithms for control of complex nonlinear objects of mining and metallurgical complex and processes in telecommunication networks; intelligent methods and means of monitoring information communication networks for attack detection and prevention systems.

Leads student research papers presented at national and international competitions and conferences.

Oleksandra Gerasina is a guarantor of the educational program «Cyber Security» of the first (bachelor's) degree and deputy head of the scientific and methodological commission of Dnipro University of Technology in the specialty 125 «Cyber Security».

International activities

Participation in more than 20 international conferences.

Oleksandra Gerasina has a CEFR certificate of English language proficiency at level B2 (№ 059487DP01 dated May 24, 2018).
