The department of information security and telecommunications aims to train specialists with higher education in the fields 12 “Information technologies” and 17 “Electronics, automation and electronic communication”
Training of specialists is carried out according to specialties, the names of which are formulated in accordance with existing standards.
125 Cyber security and information protection
Specialty 125 "Cyber security and information protection"
covers a set of protection methods in the field of telecommunications and informatics related to the assessment and control of risks arising from the use of computers and computer networks and their implementation from the point of view of confidentiality, integrity and availability.

172 Electronic communications and radio engineering
Specialty 172 "Electronic communications and radio engineering"
covers mobile and satellite communication, radio broadcasting and television, computer and information systems. The direction includes the development and operation of telecommunications systems, radio communication, television, radio control, mobile communication, electronic and computer systems, etc.

Curricula for two training specialties provide for multi-level training of bachelors, specialists and masters and correspond to educational and professional programs approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
Master's training is provided with in-depth knowledge of modern achievements in the relevant fields. Defense of the master's thesis completes the preparation of the master's degree.
In addition to communication within the walls of the university, the teachers of the department regularly visit the dormitory, which is located very close to the educational buildings of the University, where about 25% of students studying in the department's specialties live. They are interested in living conditions, and if necessary, help in solving household problems.
The total area of the premises is 1000 m2, incl. 880 m2 of laboratory space used in the educational process, which is 88% of the total area of the department.
The Department of Information Security and Telecommunications has at its disposal 8 educational laboratories, which are equipped with modern means of computing, microelectronics, and microprocessor technology.
The department also has its own local network, which unites 4 computer classes, and is connected to the university network with access to the global computer network INTERNET. Classrooms are equipped with more than 70 modern computers. The teachers of the department have a thorough knowledge of modern integrated software and tools of computer technology and automated control systems.
